Policies
Women shouldn't work, professional women lost their jobs to men and the number of women in work dropped between 1933-36.
Women should get married. In 1933 the marriage law of initiation allowed marriage loans (up to 1000 marks) to families if the woman agreed to stop working.

The Germans women's enterprise gave medals for having kids and ran classes for home based activities.
Divorce laws (1938): If a women didn't or couldn't have a child or had an abortion it was a legal ground for a divorce.
Mothers cross: An award given to women for having children. Bronze for 5-6, silver for 6-7, gold for 8. Hitler youth must salute mothers with a gold, and the tenth child must have Hitler as their godfather and name it Adolf if it was a boy.

Birth rates were to go up, and women should have as many children as possible. They should devote their lives to their children.
Women shouldn't work, as they needed to raise a family, instead men should work, and any women working is taking a man's job.

Shooting, hiking, military style camps, helping fire brigade during war, formed military brigade in 1945 to defend Berlin.

Cookery, housework, needlework, learning what a good husband is, and childcare.

Aims: For Children to be loyal supporter to the Nazi party and believe in their policies, and to be proud members of Germany.
Opposition
Edelweiss Pirates: Mostly made of boys, who copied American clothing, listened to banned media, formed in the late 1930s, potentially as a consequence of enforcing Hitler youth membership.
Swing Youth: Wore American clothes, watched American music and films. They organised illegal dances and were mostly made up of rich families.
