Project scope definition is a document that will be used by team for planning and measuring project success.

- Milestones
- Significant events that occurs at one point in time
- Milestone schedules represent first cut estimates of time, cost and schedules
- Milestones should be natural, important points in the project.
- Should be easy for participants to recognize.
- Reviews with Customers
- Completion of the scope checklist ends with a review with customers
- Limit and Exclusions
- Limits of scope should be defined as failure to do so can lead to false expectations
- Exclusions of further define the boundaries of the project by stating what is not included

- Defines the overall objectives to meet customer's needs
