Start
Exposition:
Germany became a third-world country–and he had a part in it. He kept conversations encoded and secret for the person responsible, so every line of communication was never tracked back to them. He doesn't even know who they are. And he helped drip money into hundreds of accounts for that person as Germany racked-up debt. He's been imprisoned for something unknown–something no one will talk about. He knows he was imprisoned so his brother could get the money he was given to commit treason.
Inciting incident:
He is released from prison with four days before he's required to check in with his parole officer. He decides to get his money and find a place to hide in Germany (he can't leave the country), find his best friend.
Rising action:
His brother picks him up. They hate each other. His brother sent him to prison and knows he committed treason. His brother threatens to tell everyone about his treason because they'll kill him if they know. No one told him how Germany is becoming a third-world country after going in billions of dollars of debt. And how people are going hungry, dying because of a lack of medical and good water supply. His brother has a young family–met his wife and married her last year. The main character wants to find his best friend, wants to get away from his brother, wants to find his money his brother stole. He can't reach his best friend. He needs to find the person he helped–they would be able to find her, he is convinced of this.
Climax:
He misses his parole meeting and hunts down the person he helped–doesn't know their name, only knows an email he can contact. The tracker inside him alerts him that the police know he's on the run. His brother says he'll pay off the police, but his brother has no money–he lost it all trying to hide, and he's planning on selling his brother out to get him back in prison and get more money. His brother's phone is alerted by the email the main character sends. The main character gives the officer the truth about his treason and says there's money being held in an offshore account–they can access it with a code he entrusts to his brother in front of them.
Falling action:
He was framed in prison for his brother's blackmail to force people from the country. He takes the blame for his brother's guilt and is forced down, arrested again. He asks his brother to find Elke and bring her back.
