Student B is a male with a very high classroom aptitude. He was a star student in his kindergarten years, but has become increasingly disruptive as time goes on. There are clear issues at home, namely the complete absence of his father who works abroad, which has continued to increase in recent years. The student identifies as a clown, or joker, which I have explained is okay in the context of bringing humor to others. His execution of the jokes, however, often involves blurting out and disrupting class. Sometimes he bothers students who are trying to work with these antics. Not always, but certainly sometimes, the jokes involve inappropriate subject matter for 8 year-olds. On occasion, the comments or questions he makes in class are done so with the intention of delivering a joke, causing off-topic intrusions into class discussions and lessons.
