She start to write a blog for the BBC.
The blog was called Diary of a Pakistani Schoolgirl, Malala wrote under the pen name "Gul Makai". Malala soon became famous for writing her blog, she also began to speak in public about the treatment of the Taliban.
Who is Malala?
She is a human rights activist, she is best known for fighting for the rights of women to receive an education in Pakistan.
She was born on July 12,1997 in the Swat Valley region, Pakistan.

She has got two younger brothers, her father is a teacher and her mother is a housewife.
Her father: he is a teacher, he ran several schools and he run a school for girls.
He was approached by the BBC to get a female student to write about her life under Taliban rule.
The Taliban
When Malala was ten years old the Taliban began to take control of the region, they are a group of strict muslims, they enforce new laws and demanded to shut down the schools for girls. When Malala start to write the blog, she was told to stop speaking out and she received many death threats from the Taliban. On October 9, 2012 a man shot Malala.
