        Homeostasis- "steady state" of the body functions.
- - - - Genes- copy themselves during reproduction.
        
        Mitochondria- supply energy (ATP) for the cell and are referred as the "power plant" of the cell.
        
        Cytoplasm- refers to all the cellular material except the plasma membrane and the nucleus.
        
        The plasma (cell) membrane- encloses the cell and regulates movement of materials in and out of the cell.

        Proximal- closest to the point of attachment.
        
        Inferior/ Caudal- below or towards the feet.
