Stanley Yelnats has curse placed because of his great- great-grandfather. He was sent to Camp Green Lake because they think he stole something. Stanley and the other boys at the camp are have to dig large holes in the every day. Then he realizes that they are digging these holes because the Warden is searching for something. After that the story is all about revealing curse and what the Warden is looking for.
