transport in the air
hot air balloons:
1st aircraft to carry a human in the air 1st flight 1783. designed by Joseph & Jacques Montgolfire - French Brothers. A fire was lit under the balloon, hot air was blown into a silk bag that was attached to a basket. Hot air rises and lifts the balloon. before humans were sent up they sent up a chicken, duck & a sheep.
airships
Almost same as hot air balloons, steam or petrol engines to move.could be steered in any direction. Carry people in cabin below balloon. 1st world war were used to bomb cities. Most Famous airship "the Hindenburg"moments before it landed it burst into flames and crashed on the ground. afterwards people did not want to travel in airships anymore.
the first aeroplane
first flight took place in america in 1903 The aeroplane was called the Flyer Orville and Wilbur Wright "the Wright Brothers".** Had a petrol engine Orville flew the machine, he lay flat on his stomach on the lower wing. the longest flight on the 1st day lasted 1 minute.
