The natural water cycle
The earth's water is always moving from the land to the sea and back again this is called the natural water cycle. No new water is ever made - the water we have now is the water the earth will always have
Clouds = very small drops of water
Water vapour = Water that has changed into a gas - like air we cannot see water vapour.- Water vapour is found in the Air!!
Evaporation - the process of turning from liquid into vapour
Condensation - the conversion of a vapour or gas to a liquid.
"the cloud is caused by condensation in the air"
Precipitation - rain, snow, sleet, or hail that falls to the ground.
Sun gives heat 2. water evaporates from rivers, lakes, sea etc. in the form of water vapour 3. Water Condenses into droplets in the clouds 4. Water precipitates (rains to the ground) and start again
The Journey of water
Rain falls to the earth - precipitation
People build dams on rivers. Dams store millions of litres of water
The water treatment plant cleans the water from dams
The reservoir stores the clean water
Special pumps at the pumping station push the water through underground pipes
water reaches the people trough these underground pipes
