A Colony at Plymouth
Plymouth , the second English settlement in America , was sterted because of religion. Many people felt they did not have religious freedom.
They wanted to be able to workship in their own way. Pilgrims are people whow make a trip for religious reasons .
In 1620 , about 100 men , women , children saied from Plymouth , England in a sheep caed the myflower.

The Puritants did not have as many problems as the pilgrims did. Some of them were carpenters , teachers and other people with important skills.
In 1630 , nearly 1,000 Puritants sailde for Massachusetts.
The puritant villages chose people to represent called the legislature, made the colony's laws.
