Sustainability Of Natural Resources
Soil
soil has different layers, topsoil is the most nutritious
plants cannot grow in bedrock
soil contains humus (dead things)
weathering and erosion break rocks into smaller pieces
soil is a mix of rocks and dead things
Climate Change
greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide trap heat on the earth.
burning fossil fuels adds more carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.
earth's climate changes naturally but humans are making it warm up faster.
cutting down trees stops the earth from cooling down
Global warming is the heating up of the whole world.
global warming can cause bad weather and diseases but humans can still fix the problem.
Natural resources
There are many natural resources such as air water and soil.
Renewable does not mean it will never run out.
we can conserve our resources by changing our habits.
Anything in nature that people value.
There are two types of resources which are renewable and non renewable.
Recycling
Population growth
Green House effect
earth heats up and cools naturally but the earth is getting warmer way too fast due to human input
greenhouse gases ,such as C02 and methane, by humans is the main cause of greenhouse gases
greenhouse gases such as C02 absorb and trap the heat on earth
most of the suns heat goes back into space
there are gases that make the earth warmer
Conserving energy
air pollution
the ozone protects us when it's high in the atmosphere but it can poison us when its closer to us
air pollution mixes with the clouds to make acid rain
air pollution can cause cancer and global warming
burning fossil fuels release toxins, like C02
cows release methane, a type of greenhouse gas
air pollution can have different sources, like cars
if we can conserve our resources, it will cause less air pollution
Humans and their environment
he 3 ways to help the environment is conserving, cleaning up, and chiming in.
in the last 200 years humans have greatly impacted the environment.
during the industrial revolution, there were more people which lead to more pollution.
using nonrenewable resources, such as plastics. causes pollution and will run out.
for our survival humans can do things to take care of the environment.
