Patient has difficulty speaking and has severe muscle spasms in the face and arm. The tattoo needle was contaminated with the bacteria Clostridium tetani which releases a toxin that prevents neurons from sending messages. Thus, ultimately resulting in muscle spams and an inability to communicate.

- Patient got a tattoo with an unclean needle containing bacteria that result in muscle spasms.
- Patient also didn't receive vaccination for the bacteria Clostridium tetani.
- Clostridium tetani causes toxins to be released into the patients nervous system.
- These toxins prevent the proper function of neurons to release neurotransmitters, thus resulting in muscle spasms.

Axon Hilock
-
when the total strength of the signal exceeds the threshold limit of the axon hillock, the structure will fire a signal down the axon
Nodes of Ranvier
allow for ions to diffuse in and out of the neuron, causing an electrical signal down the axon
