Names of Muscles
Cardiac Muscle: heart wall
Smooth Muscle: involuntory
Skeletal: attatched by tendons to bones
Smooth muscle: has single central nucleous
Epimysium: covers the entire skeletal system
Pectoralis
Deltoid Muscle
platsma muscle
Rectus Muscle
Zygomaticus Muscle
Types of mucles Tissue
Skeletal: cells are long , parallel, and multinucleated
Cardiac muscle: long, branch has single central nucleus
Smooth muscle; no striation , appears smooth, involuntary
Body Movement
Flexion- movement that decrases angle of joint
Extension- movement that increases angle of joint
Rotation- movement of bone arounf a longitudinal axis
Abduction- movement of limb away from midline
Circumduction- em=nd of limb ; moves in circle
Inversion- turn sole of foot medially
Structure of Skeletal Muscle
Muscles are connected to eachother by broad sheets of connective tissue
beneath the sarcolemma is the saroplasm
Glycogen- energy
Myoglobin- cellular respiration
Thick filbments are made up of protein
Muscle contraction-
Motor Neuron- nerve stumulates skeletal muscle
nerves stimulated by muscle contract
Axon- long portion of the nerve
Synaptic lefr- is the gap between neuron and sarcolemma
nerve impulse reaches synaptic and causes vesicles to refuse with presynaptic and release arch.
