Humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes, which determine everything from hair color to gender. humans have 46 individual chromosomes, 23 from each parent, beside the last chromosome, all of them are X chromosomes. The last however, is an exception, in males, the last chromosome is a Y chromosome.
