SUSTAINABILITY OF NATURAL RESOURCES. (CLIMATE CHANGE ( GLOBAL WARMING )…
SUSTAINABILITY OF NATURAL RESOURCES.
Humans and their environment
using non renewable resources cause lots of pollution and will eventually run out
for our survival we need to do things to help the environment
during the industrial revolution there was more people and more population
in the last 200 years humans have greatly impacted the environment
the three things you can do to help the environment is conserving cleaning up and chiming in
CONSERVING ENERGY
NATURAL RESOURCES
anything in nature that people value
air water and fossil fuels plants and animals are natural resources
plastics are not natural resources
there are two types which are renewable and non-renewable
reducing reusing and recycling helps to conserve our resources
Greenhouse Gases
without the greenhouse gases earth would be too cold to live on
too much greenhouse gases can cause global warming
greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide ( C02 ) trap heat on the earth
greenhouse effect is the warming of earth
humans are causing global warming
humans can reduce global warming by burning less fossil fuel and raising less cows
CLIMATE CHANGE ( GLOBAL WARMING )
global warming is the average temperature of earth
earth gets warmer naturally, but this is happening a lot faster
Humans burning fossil fuels is putting more greenhouse gases in the atmosphere
trees remove carbon dioxide, so we need to plant more trees
global warming is causing bad weather and diseases but we can still fix the problem
We can help to stop global warming by using less fossil fuels, conserving energy and using renewable resources
Global warming leads to lots of problems such as bad weather and diseases
Recycling
Air pollution
If we conserve our resources then it will cause less air pollution
Air pollution mixes clouds to create acid rain
Air pollution can cause cancer and global warming
Air pollution can have different sources such as car
Burning fossil fuels releases poisonous gases such as C02
Ozone protects when its high in the atmosphere but poisonous when its low and near us
Cows release methane which is a greenhouse gases
POPULATION GROWTH
Earth can only hold a certain amount of people
about 200 years ago the human population increased by a lot
more people on earth are using up our resources faster
in 10 years there will be more than 8 billion people on earth
recycling can reduce how much resources are being used
SOIL
soil has different layres and the topsoil has the most humus
Erosion moves the sediments to other places
Plants cannot grow in bedrock so we must protect our topsoil
Plants need rocks and humus to grow
Soil is a mix of rocks water and dead stuff
Weathering breaks rocks into small pieces called sediments
