        provides for establishment of a River Board for the development and regulation of inter state river and river valleys.
      - Inter-state Water Disputes Act, 1956
        
        empowers central govt. to establish an Ad- Hoc tribunal for the adjudication of a dispute between 2 or more states in relation to the waters of inter state river or the river valley.
- - - - making recommendations upon any such subject and, in particular, recommendations for the better co-ordination of policy and action with respect to that subject, it shall be lawful for the President by order to establish such a Council, and to define the nature of the duties to be performed by it and its organisation and procedure.
