Sustainability of natural resources
Humans and Enviroment
Over the last 200 years, humans have greatly impacted the enviroment
During the industrial Revolution, there was more people that caused more pollution
Three C's to help the environment is to conserve, cleaning up and chiming in
Using non - renewable resources causes pollution and will eventually run out
Humans need to immediately take action in order to improve our environment for our future survival
Pollution
Acid rain is another form of pollution
The "ozone layer" isn't safe from air pollution either
Pollution can come from natural resources such as wildfires, calburts and volcanic eruptions
Cars produce deadly gasses such as carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide
Conversing Energy
Natural resources
-
Anything that people value is a natural resource.
We use energy resources to power our cities...
Plastic is not a natural resource unlike air, water plants and animals...
There are two different types of resources are renewable and non-renewable...
The sun is also considered as a renewable source
Oil, Fossil Fuels are non renewable, unlike solar panels.
Reducing, Re-using and recycling can help us conserve our resources.
Climate Change
1.Global warming is about the temperature of the earth. .
Climate change happens naturally but humans are making the temperature increase faster.
Global warming is caused by greenhouse gases which attract the heat.
Humans are burning fossil fuels which is producing more carbon dioxide. Plants help in take carbon dioxide. So if we plant more trees it will be beneficial.
Fossil fuels is the most limited resource for gas in the world.
Trees absorb carbon dioxide, so if we increase trees, it will reduce global warming.
Global warming is causing bad weather and diseases but we can still fix the situation/ problem.
Scientists prefer "global climate change" than "global warming "
Population Growth
About 200 years ago, the human population increased a lot
Earth can support a certain amount of people
Overpopulation is making us use up our resources faster as well as increasing pollution.
In about 10 million years, there will be more that a whopping
8billion people
The Greenhouse Effect
Once sunlight is trapped, it cannot get out
Without greenhouse gases earth would be too cold for lif
Greenhouse gases such as CO2, warms the earth
Too much of the greenhouse gases, make the earth warm up. (Global Warming) So some of the diseases that were thought to be extinct are coming back
The Greenhouse effect is the warming of the earth
Humans are causing more greenhouse gases
Burning Fossil fuels and cows producing methane, can be reduced by humans, if we control our rate of material income
