Muscular System
MOVEMENT STRUCTURES:
-
ARM:
Bicep Brachil: central movement of joint & elbow, essential; to lifting forearm
-
HEAD:
Frontalis- part of the forehead, raises eyebrows, causes forehead to wrinkle
Obicularsis Oculi- close eyes, produce blinking and squinting , pulls eyebrows
Zygomaticus: Raise lateral corners of mouth, smiling muscle
Buccinator: compress cheek, holds food between teeth while chewing, pulls corner of mouth laterally (whistling & sucking)
Platysma: tenses skin at neck, helps depress mandible, pulls lower lip back & down
-
Temporalis: close jaw, retracts and elevates mandible, help mandible
Obicularis Oris: encircles mouth, contracts lips & mouth
Masseter: prime mover of jaw, closer, elevates mandible
-
THIGH & LEG:
Iliosoas: Flex thigh and hip, joint cheif flexer
-
MUSCLE TISSUES:
Cardiac Muscles: Form heart, striated and controlled involuntary
Skeletal muscle: attached to skeleton, striated and can control voluntary
Smooth Muscle: located chiefly in walls of hollow organs, controlled voluntarily
-
MUSCLES:
Anterior Skeletal-
-
CONTRACTION:
Energy source for muscle contration is ATP obyained from couple reaction of creatvie phospahte eith ADP and from aerobic and anerobic metabolism of glucose
ATP is produced by anaerobic pathways lactic acid accumaltes and ionic imbalance disturb membrane potential
to return muscleto their pre-exercise state, ATP must be produce aerobically and used to regenerate creatine phosphate glycogen reserves must be metabolism
