Face-to-face learning offer opportunities for collaboration without technology but participants still have to work at making collaboration successful. Strong extroverts can dominate and introverts can hide in a group. John uses his online activities to replicate face-to-face but plans strategies to avoid the problems face-to-face group work can have. He aims to create a learning community that all the group contributes their different competencies purposefully to the work.
