PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL
changes and properties
Properties
A property of a matter is a description about traits of the matter that can be measured.
A chemical property can only be observed while the chemical change is happening
Toxicity
Flammability
chemical stability
A physical property can be observed and measured without changing the composition of the matter
Colour
Density
Texture
Changes
A chemical change is a change that forms a new substance by combining 2 or more substance and can't be undone, it often happens because of heat.
Baking muffins
Smelting a metal
Note = Chemical reaction is the same like chemical change
Falling in love
proof it's a chemical change =

A physical change is a change that does not create new substances but might change the state of matter and shape, it can often be undone
Making friends
can be undone by just insulting and ignoring the friend (JUST A JOKE EXAMPLE, I WON'T DO THAT TO MY FRIENDS OBVIOUSLY XD)
Breaking laptop on or not on purpose
It can be fixed by mechanics (but the payment is darn expensive)
Cutting baguette
The sliced pieces of the baguette can be formed together
Both physical and chemical properties changes if they have a change
Experiments to show a physical and chemical change
Physical = Cut a paper sheet into 2 with a scissor, as you can see it is of course cut but you can undo that by using a tape or glue to put them back together. This is a physical change because it can be undone and cutting a paper sheet won’t form a new substance.
Chemical = For the chemical, we have to do it with fire so be careful if you’re attempting this experiment. So, grab your lighter and simply lit up a sheet of paper in fire for about 1 second and extinguish it, after extinguishing it you can see that some part of the paper is burnt and turn into ashes.
This is a chemical change because a new substance (ashes) is formed, and basically you can’t really turn a burnt paper back to normal paper.
