1750 F and I war
The Ohio river valley had many resources that they needed and it was good for trading goods
Fort Duquesne was a fort established by the french which was later taken over by the English. After the English destroyed it.
1754-1758 -William Pitt increased spending for the British which some believed to be the turning point of the war.
Captain Jumonville killed may 1754 which sparked the war
1760-Brits took over Quebec and Montreal which some also believed to be the turning point of the war.
1763 treaty of pairs was the official ending of the seven years war also known as French and Indian war signed by the British, France and Spain.
1763 Pontiac's Rebellion was when a group of Native Americans rebelled against the British after the F and I war had officially ended.
The Proclamation of 1763 declared by Great Britain after the French and Indian war Concluded was meant to stop settlers west of the App mountains from settling in the Colonies.
1763- Effects of the French and Indian war was the British got more Territory, also the British were somewhat in debt , but most importantly the colonies had found a common foe in the British.
1754- The British built Ft. necessity which included George Washington and ambushed French soldiers (one of the sparks of the war)

1764- The sugar act lowered taxes on molasses. Colonists protested No taxation without representation.
1765- The stamp act taxed legal documents such as Newspapers, letters, etc. Colonists were very unhappy and protested British goods.
1765- The quartering act required colonists to pay for housing and food for the British soldiers.
1767-The Townshend acts was made to create revenue for all the money they spent during the French and Indian war .and were a series of laws. The colonists could not protest this very much.
The tea act of 1773 was when the colonists were only allowed to buy tea from a certain source and the colonists thought that if they just let this happen it would result in other unfair laws so they revolted by tossing tea of importing ships which ended up being 1 million dollars in tea wasted.
Intolerable acts of 1774- This was a punishment for the revolt over the tea act. The British kept on making laws to assert their rule over the colonies
Quartering act of 1774- This was different than the first one because this allowed British soldiers to stay in private homes. This was the last part of the intolerable acts.

People give consent to the government to govern so that things can be changed based on the input of the people.
American revolution 1776
1776- Patriots made up most of the Americans army which made them very critical to the Americans success. Patriots loved their country and would do anything to fight for it.
1776- Loyalists- Loyalists sided with the king and were loyal to their King.
1776 Knowledge of Land- The Americans were much familiar with the territory because that is where they have lived and had experience with. The British had the disadvantage coming across the sea and not knowing the land as well as the Americans do.
1777- The battle of Sataroga, there were two battles with different outcomes in the battles of Sataroga. The first one was a lengthy battle that the British ended up winning. After the first win for the British they were cocky and went with a smaller army attempting to gain land in New York but the Americans ended up winning and this convinced France to join with the Americans. This ended up being a pivotal point in the war to change momentum.

Lexington/concord- 1775- This was the first set battle during the war in which the Americans won. This was a pretty significant victory for the Americans considering the British had marched all the way to Lexington and the Americans had spotted them and had time to set up and fight away the Brits.

The sons of liberty were formed in 1765
1770- The homespun movement was when American women boycotted British goods such as clothing.
Some boycotts were the homespun movement, the sons of liberty and others to prove points to the British such as the Boston tea party later on.
1770- The Boston massacre is when the Colonists were protesting by yelling insults and throwing things at the British and the British reacted by shooting and killing five people including a little boy and 6 other people were injured.
1773 the Boston tea party is where the colonists protested and dressed up as Indians and snuck on to ships full of tea and threw the tea into the harbor wasting over one million dollars in tea
