Men are usually thought of as being more rational, whilst women are perceived as being emotional, particularly more so than men.

Women are thought of as being softer and more compassionate, meaning they are understood as being better suited to caring roles, such as looking after children and the elderly, whereas men would be better at roles of power, governing, running companies etc.
