Act IV
MacDuff's family is murdered
Gives Macduff a reason to want to kill MB
Macbeth begins to make war against the other thanes
This is a step towards unifying scotland, which provokes England
Macbeth talks to the witches again
this shows how desperate macbeth is
England begins plans to send soldiers to fight Macbeth
Macbeth is beginning to prove himself to be a threat towards England as he attempts to unify Scotland
Act I
Soliloquy #1
The witches tell Macbeth his future and set up the main storyline of him trying to become king
The Bloody Soldier's Speech
Sets the main theme to the story
Macbeth and Banquo meet the king
Proves the witches' predictions are accurate
Lady Macbeth reads Macbeth's letter
Lady Macbeth plots to kill King Duncan
Act III
Macbeth sends 2 men to kill Banquo
This is one of the unintended consequences that the witches didn't mention
Macbeth sees Banquo's ghost
This makes Macbeth start to look crazy
Banquo suspects Macbeth killed the king
This is the first event of many that leads to Banquo's death
The thanes blame macbeth for making war on Scottish thanes
This along with the other 3 events mentioned is the beginning of Macbeth's downfall
Act II
Soliloquy #4
Begins Macbeth's idea of killing the king himself
Macbeth asks Banquo to stick with him
Shows Macbeth's worries about killing the king
The body is discovered by Macduff and the king's guards are blamed
This gets the blame away from Macbeth but begins his feelings of guilt.
MB killing the king
This is the most important act of the entire story
