Transforming the transportation sector in Los Angeles
stakeholders
Private/public partnership between the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and
would also be beneficial to form public/private partnerships between energy companies to make the transition off of fossil fuel
public/private partnership between city of LA and local businesses when expanding transportation sector so that local businesses are not hurt
Residents of the Los Angeles metropolitan area
Eric Garcetti, mayor of the City of Los Angeles
community leaders in the different neighborhoods of Los Angeles
would have to be in collaboration with the City of Los Angeles (maybe the city planners office? department of transportation?)
political leadership between the city of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, and the incorporated cities of Los Angeles (i.e. Beverly Hills)
Plan
transition off of fossil fuels ; make system carbon neutral
integration of systems ; could combine renewable energy sector with transport sector to help with transition off of fossil fuel --> electrification of sector
make the city less car dependent
build the reputation of the overall transit system back up
buses need to show up on time so that people can depend on them to go to work
make safety a priority on the metro and buses
there needs to be more community outreach so that more residents are aware of how usable and accessible the LA transportation system is
encourage and make it easier to use Metro or biking instead of driving your car
put more money into the bus service so that it runs more frequently (i.e. buses running every 10 to 15 minutes than every 30 minutes)
