British Troop And Taxes
Sugar Act
It caused strict enforcement of the act of hard punishment for smugglers
merchants who smuggled goods reacted with anger
They put tax on sugar , molasses and etc.
colonial leaders had arguments about this new tax law
The Sugar Act happens in 1764
Britian Passes the Stamp Act
to carry an official stamp that proves that the tax has been payed for
All diplomas, contracts, and wills had to carry stamps
This law required all legal and commercial documents
This law directly hit the colonists, they had to pay in silver stamps
The Stamp Act Happend in 1765
The Boston Massacre
On March 5th, 1770, tensions finally broke into violence.
1,000 British arrived in Boston under command of general Thomas Gage
A group of youths and dockworkers started to trade insults with the British
Happend in 1668
A fight began and the British soldiers began to shoot. A few people passed in the shooting
The Tea Act
This Act had giving the British east India company control over the american end trade
the colonists that have not paid tax on smuggled tea would now have to pay tax on regulated tea.
Tea was very popular within the colonies but some was smuggled in from Holland.
The Tea Act happend on 1773 [page 166]
