Quake
Good
Communication
Standup split into small teams and much more efficient
Communicate and cooperation is good
Although there is no ERD, developer is glad to explain all questions. Help to learn more details.
sit together and make communication much easier and in time.
people
People is nice and good to work together
Trust and respect each other
culture
Flexible for work time and place
Project
Project goal is clear
Have clear scope for quake release 2 months before FC
A fun project, could learn lots of new things.
Process
Flexible and team could switch to the high priority thing quickly
Not Good
Team vision
Should involve more discussion in slack channel in dfsworker, dfs-help
Increase Team influence
Need more way to show test result to PM and developers and improve feature design
Knowledge silos
On-boarding is still very hard, from entry to advance is hard too.
Lack of team internal knowledge share
culture
Less team activities, team building, outing
process
sprint planning is not accountability, feature moves in or out frequently
feature often delay but without any analysis
ERD, ERD, ERD...
Changes happen suddenly and QA is always the last one to know.
Product requirement and design change frequent, for QA, there is no enough time to change accordingly. Need PM and PMO more support
Feature build often delay and squeeze QA testing time.
Definition of Done for QA too stressful and cause QA switch focus to automate test cases to get job done. No time to do explore testing and find more issues
It's late to find issues after PR change merged. causing efforts to figure out the root cause
responsibilities are not clear in system test project, task assignment and ownership etc.
More travel opportunity between US and Shanghai team
Infra support
test infra is not elastic, resources are often run out
Test infra is not robust, once issue happened, commonly, take long time to fix.
