The rise and fall of the mongols
The mongols prided themselves on their skill
on horseback, their discipline, their ruthlessness, and their courage in battle.
Nomadic people were pastoralists or people that herded domesticated animals
Asian nomads practically lived on horseback as they followed their huge herds and they depended on their animals for food, clothing, and housing. And their diet consisted of meat and the mare milk
they engaged in peaceful
trade and were accustomed to scarcity and hardship, but they were sometimes tempted by the rich land and relative wealth of townspeople and took what ever they wanted by force
As a result of the nomads taking what they want by force, the settled people live in constant fear of raids
Genghis Khan was the rise of the mongols and he was the reason why the mongols got to dominate the world
he promoted people on merit rather than family position and people of lower class into his own tribe
he was later declared the great khan, the leader of all mongols
angered by the murder of the Mongol traders and the ambassador at the hands of the Muslims, Genghis launched a campaign of terror across central asia
In 1206, Temujin accepted the title
Genghis Khan, or “universal ruler” of the Mongol clans.
later on, central asia was later controlled by the mongols, who destroyed one city after another
Genghis was a gifted strategist, that he used various tricks to confuse his enemy; one of the army tricks was half of the army left as if the enemy was chasing them, when suddenly the rest of the of the Mongol army would appear and slaughter the surprised enemy forces
Finally, Genghis Khan used cruelty as a weapon. He believed
Genghis Khan last words were "I have conquered for you a large empire. But my life was too short to take the whole world. That I leave to you."
the mongols promoted trade, diversity and tolerance but also slaughter and senseless destruction (that might be the reason why he sometimes destroyed some cities and slaughter)
Genghis Khan, on of the most successful military leaders that the world has ever known
at his young age experience grief and suffering with his father being poisoned by a rival tribe
Tamujin killed his own brother for being accused of hoarding food while the others starve, this allowed him to be the leader of the tribe
the harsh conditions he had experienced help him learn how to deal with his enemies but also the value of the friendships and alliances
Jammul defeated Genghis tribe by surprising them and boiling up to death, when Genghis knew what happened he seek fro revenge and did not wanted to be defeated
in the battle of Jamuca and Genghis demonstrated he was a military genius, Genghis won the victory by at dawn slaughtering the army of Jamuca
After Genghis death, he was barely starting his empire, Genghis son and grandson helped spread the empire
Kublai Khan (Genghis grandson) conquered the Song Dynasty in China
They are a tribe that has variety of groups, nowadays they spread into China, Mongolia, and Russia. In the past they were great invaders that controlled Europe and Asia, then they became more powerful after the fall of Liao Dynasty
Genghis Khan failed to create a government
During that time, it expanded to cover most of Eurasia, thanks to advanced technology and a massive horde of nomadic warriors.
While ferocious in war, the Mongols were quite tolerant in peace.
Over time, some Mongol rulers even adopted
aspects of the culture of the people they ruled.
one example is the Ikhans that later on became muslims
Growing cultural differences among the khanates
contributed to the eventual splitting up of the empire.
the Mongols imposed
stability and law and order across much of Eurasia, during this period it was sometimes called the Pax Mongolica
Ideas and inventions
traveled along with the trade goods.
The disease might have traveled along trade routes or
have been passed to others by infected Mongol troops.
the nomadic were the lords of the city-based civilizations across Asia, including China
Genghis Khan= Temujin
because of the mongols, the rice became a staple od the Persian diet
the definition of happiness of Genghis was, "The greatest happiness is to vanquish your enemies, to chase them before you, to rob of their wealth, to see those dear to them bathed in tears, to clasp to your bosom their wives and daughters."
the mongols diet was products of meat and milk, because farming didnt happened a lot and they were nomads, meaning they travel from place to place according to the climate
