Leaving more time for play interactions

Never expect something of a child that is not developmentally appropriate for their stage

Individual learning pathways, all children are at different places in their journey that is FANTASTIC!

Areas of learning happen as and when children are READY!

Take the time to get to know the child
Their talents/ strengths and interests

Key areas I want to develop:
-Kindness, respect, empathy
-Sharing
-How to tidy up
-Resilience
-Social/ emotional learning, understanding our emotions
-Mindset

Oral language development,
through lots of conversation and rich vocabulary

Recording the learning
-Scrapbook of class learning
-Include individual development progress read/writ/math/

Focused on IMPROVING not PROVING!

Stress free, no pressure!

Know when to extend, question
coach, respond, and wen to just observe and allow play to unfold

No models ever, children are the creators, they use their imaginations and they are unique! Embrace that.

Tap in to wondering, through rich conversation!

Play is our inquiry! When an interest is over, we move on!
Mutual agreement to learning, are we wanting to know more about this?

Number sense through play, puppets and problem solving, rich tasks. Count forwards, backwards, understand symbols, understand sequencing, links to shape, maths talk, double, half, counting in 2's, 5's and 10's- hands on lots of materials.
