- - - - William Pitt increases military spending- William Pitt was the prime minister of England during the 1760's, during the French and Indian war. He chose to increase military spending costs, which ended up making England the winner, but he also caused a lot of problems in doing this. William Pitt's choice to increase spending costs was one of the most major reasons the American Revolution occurred, he left England in millions of dollars in war debt.

        Montreal Falls to the British- When Montreal falls to Britain it is a major turning point in the war. By controlling Montreal the British now had control of the French's canadian trade foothold, along with the fall of Quebec in 1760. Therefore, making it a major turning point in the war. It's like a different country taking over Washington D.C. now.

        Quebec falls to the British- The fall of Quebec was also a major turning point in the French and Indian war, along with the fall of Montreal. The British benefited by so much because the French lost all of their canadian trade. This lead to Britain eventually winning the French and Indian war.

        Treaty of Paris 1763- The Treaty of Paris 1763 was the official document that officially ended the French and Indian war. It was signed in Paris because it was a place of peace.
        
        Pontiac's Rebellion- Pontiac's Rebellion was a group of American indians that attempted to resist British rule in the Ohio River Valley. The Rebellion ended when 95% of their population passed away from smallpox.
        
        Proclamation of 1763- The Proclamation of 1763 was an official document not allowing colonists to expand westward of the Appalachian mountains. It stated that if you, a colonists were to expand westward anyways the British were not responsible for your safety. It also stated that since Britain was no longer in charge of you it allowed the American Indians to attack you.

        Sugar Act (1764)- The Sugar Act was the first act on the American colonies to lower war debt after the French and Indian war by British Parliament. The Sugar Act taxed sugar, molasses, etc. Another reason the Sugar Act was passed was because the British wanted to reduce the amount of illegal smuggling of sugar products from the French and Dutch.

        Stamp Act (1765)- The Stamp Act of 1765 was passed to reduce war debt from the French and Indian war. The Stamp Act was enforced throughout the colonies and required colonists to pay a tax on all printed paper they used. This included playing cards, legal documents, etc. The Stamp Act mostly affected the wealthier because poorer colonists did not need as much paper as an attorney would.
        
        Quartering Act (1765)- The Quartering Act of 1765 was passed to lower war debt by having colonists feed, take care of and house soldiers in anyway, such as stable or barn.

        Sons of Liberty- The Sons of Liberty was a formal group of men that secretly protested to advance rights in the thirteen colonies as well as protest about taxation without representation. They were formed in 1765. The sons of liberty organized the Boston Tea party as well as many different protests.
        
        Daughters of Liberty- The Daughters of Liberty was a formal group of females that helped protest the Stamp Act and later the Townshend Acts. These women identified themselves as fighting for liberty during the Revolutionary war. They were formed in 1765. The Daughters of Liberty organized the homespun movement in the colonies in 1767.
        
        Effects of the French and Indian War- Some effects of The French and Indian war were highly destructive. One effect of the French and Indian war was an enormous amount of war debt. Since William Pitt increased spending costs, Britain was now floating in debt. Britain decided to only tax the colonies because the began they started the conflict in the first place by wanting to expand westward. Another effect of the French and indian was a lot of disagreements between Britain and her American colonies. For example, the colonies were being taxed without their say, "No Taxation Without Representation," which led to the beginning of the American Revolution. Finally, another effect of the French and Indian war was colonists were not ever allowed expand westward. Leading colonists to ponder why their families and themselves risk their lives for nothing. this very question leads to many disputes. Even though there are so many negatives a positive effect of the French and Indian war was the American Indians got to keep their land west of the Appalachian mountains, but not for long.
