international consulting project: you need help getting resources from the UK to help you with AI projects: their teams are more developed, and you can correspond with lending out local team members for their projects
thanks for your time Jenny: I'll get straight to the point
Thank you for taking the time to speak to me Jenny, I understand you have a tight agenda, so I really do appreciate the effort you're making finding time for me
thanks for giving me this opportunity to discuss the pressing question of budgets and resources. before I explain what I'm looking for, I'd like to mention that my team is doing an excellent job on the new project - we're all really pleased with how things are developing...
It's very simple: we need more resources
I'm frankly disappointed at how things are being run: why's it so difficult to get any collaboration here?
what we need is a clear mandate on how to collaborate more effectively. Where do you see the priorities as being right now?
Yes, I'm pretty busy: what can I help you with?
Right, well it's very simple: we need more resources for these AI projects and I'd like some help from your team.
Well I feel it would be hugely beneficial to have a clearer sense of how to move forward with this project, given the complexities nad difficulties inherent in the current scenario
I think we need more resources for this project and I know the UK team has a lot of expertise in this area
Sorry, Phil, I'm pretty busy. Can you cut to the chase?
That's a good question: I guess I'd say we need to follow the clients' lead: cutting costs.
Cutting costs? That's all we ever hear. No way, we can't keep moving in that direction.
Hmm: I hear what you're saying, but I think it's also a question of leading and guiding the client: this is where our expertise in AI is vital, and this is exactly the area where you can help.
Look it's really vital that we find more effective ways of leveraging our AI capabilities. Right now, those capabilities are based in the UK. What can we do to enhance our co-creation and fundamentally shift the paradigm in how we're currently operating?
I'm sorry, you've lost me! WHOOPS! *Think about how to make your point more effectively: this example was a bit "long-winded": you need to understand that this person is really busy, and the consultancy-style language set you've chosen here is probably inappropriate at this point. Go back and make a different choice!
Well, it may be all you ever hear, but the reality is what it is. Look, I'm sorry, but I need to get to another meeting. Perhaps we can look at this some other time? WHOOPS! Careful with "sincericide": being too honest may cut off your negotiation loop in the bud. Go back and see if you can choose something less antagonistic.
OK, so where do you see me helping?
Well, I think specifically we could look at some members of your team currently working on the Bankblade project in London. Now I know they're all really busy, but how about looking at a trade-off with some of our guys here: you know we have phenomenal technical expertise, perhaps we could swap?
Right, well, that's very upfront of you. I beg to differ: I think there are plenty of examples of great collaboration
