(Maria) Positive Behavior Intervention Supports
Maria is a Kindergarten student. She attended preschool. Maria is a very disrespectful student. She does not follow directions when given. She talks back to students. She lacks manners. She is a bully. She does not respect personal space. She does not respect property. Maria is a very smart student and she uses her intelligence to manipulate teachers and peers. Maria needs Tier 1 interventions.
Maria Tier 1 Interventions

Provides students with comfort and limits
Provides clear, consistent, and predictable rules and expectations
It should be done every time the student breaks a rule and needs a consequence
Always provide consequences to students in the most non-emotional state

Reward System:
Provides students with positive feedback
Helps reinforce positive behaviors and expectations
It should be done when student demonstrates low and persistent motivation, effort and interest
Student earns privileges and free time for meeting expectations

Behavior Intervention Plan:
Provides more intensive intervention and monitoring
Increases support around student
It should be done when the student exhibit consistent and significant behavior problems that interfere with their learning and/or others in the class
After tracking behaviors, you may or may not choose to perform a Functional Behavior assessment, which takes the behavior data and helps you to analyze it and decide on why the student may be engaging in the behavior
