Eat that frog
Introduction
Ask successful people for advice.
Focus all of your efforts on one task at a time.
Accept that you'll never be able to do everything you want to do.
Your "frog" is this task, it's the mot important task you have at the moment.
Always start your day by "eating the frog", i.e finishing your most important task.
This way, you know that the worst part of your day is over.
Apply the 80/20 rule to everything
In a list of 10 items, 2 of them will be more
important
than the other 8 combined.
Never clear up small things first.
Focus most of your efforts on these 2 and leave the others behind.
Consider the consequences
Always think about the
long-term
results of doing or not a task.
Ask yourself
"What is the most valuable use of my time right now."
Add
20% more time
than necessary to complete a task and make a game to get it done before the deadline.
Practice creative procrastination
Eventually, you'll to
procrastinate:
use the small tasks for this.
Always
avoid
getting small, unrewarding and irrelevant taks.
Review your life to find useless habits and eliminate them.
Think "If I could go back in time, would I do this task again."
Plan every day in advance
Spend the last 20 minutes of your day planning the next one.
Move what you didn't accomplish today to tomorrow.
Have several lists: a master list (for life), a year list, a month, week and daily list.
Set the table
Have a
clear
vision of your goals and obstacles.
Write down everything to stay organized.
Set deadlines.
Start as soon as possible.
Do something every day that moves you towards your major goal.
Think and review your goals daily.
