Three types of muscle fibers: fast oxidative, Fast glycolytic and slow oxidative
Physiology
Fast oxidative fibers quickly build ATP with the Electron transport chain. Slow oxidative build ATP slowly with transport chain, and fast glycolytic fibers contract quickly and build ATP from glycogen.
Sarcoplasm has more than one nucleus, many mitochondria and myofibrils that are contractile proteins.
When calcium is released, both regulatory proteins change shape, allowing actin and myosin to interact with one another and start muscle contraction.

Muscular system's function is to produce force and cause motion, either locomotion or movement within the internal organs of the body.
