FURTHER IDEAS
The Ink Blot Test. The inkblot test (also called the "Rorschach" test) is a method of psychological evaluation. Psychologists use this test in an attempt to examine the personality characteristics and emotional functioning of their patients.
This idea was generated from the visual grammar section of form and practice. Considering the 'signifier' and 'signified' the Rorschach test could be an interesting experiment into how meanings are conveyed through shape and signs.
Making use of the first week, another idea to pursue could be looking at shapes or any subject matter and how the composition can convey a specific meaning.
-
Furthering the Rorschach Test idea, a collection of examples could broaden the outcome, and collecting results could also prove to be a unique and provide an interesting context to the poster design.

Design Process
-
The design process is the recipe you come up with in order to transform your research into an outcome.
-
-
Generative Design - an iterative design process that involves a program (or set of pre-set decisions) that will generate a certain number
of outputs that meet certain constraints.
Generative Photography - the camera is not used to reproduce an image of reality but to generate a new one,
using a predefined set of rules.
Psychogeography - playful and inventive ways of navigating the urban environment in order to examine its architecture and spaces.
WEEK 4
Typology
-
-
-
A collection of a single type, with the collection itself being more important than the individual components. A typology compares both similarities and differences between items of the same type. The most effective way to do this is to be consistent from photo to photo so that the only thing that is being compared is the item itself.
Knolling:
The process of arranging different objects so that they are at 90 degree angles from each other, then photographing them from above.
Taxonomy - a system for naming and organizing things, especially into groups that share similar qualities.
