Providing extra time for students to finish their work
Providing small group work and dividing the work into smaller objectives
Discovering the students' strengths and use them in class before fixing their weaknesses
Ways of Identifying a Struggling Student
Student is often distracted and not paying attention
Student struggles to comprehend and has issues with reading fluency
Student finishing classwork at a sub-par pace
Student constantly misbehaves in class
Student gets constantly nervous/anxious and doesn't volunteer to answer the questions given
Determining if the student should be referred to special education
Student shows repeated signs of difficulties
Have a meeting with the student's parents
Provide a solution to resolve the student's difficulties
Involving parents in helping their child
Identify and throughly explain their child's difficulties in his/her education
Provide support and encourage both the student and the parents
Reason with prideful parents (some parents deny the problem and blame on the teachers)
