INCOTERMS
Concept
they are a group of commercial terms (three letters each) that are used in international transactions to clarify costs and determine the commercial clauses included in a sales contract.
Clasification
Incoterm CPT
All costs, including main transport, are borne by the seller until the merchandise arrives at the agreed destination.
Incoterm CIP
The seller assumes the totality of the costs, including the main transport and the insurance, until the moment in which the merchandise lands in the place of destination.
Incoterm CIF
In this case, the seller is responsible for all costs (transportation and insurance included) until the merchandise is at the port of destination.
Incoterm DAT
This incoterm was included in the last update made in 2011 replacing the Incoterm DEQ. In this case, the seller assumes both costs and risks until the merchandise is unloaded at the terminal (land, sea, airport ...) previously agreed.
Incoterm CFR
The seller assumes all costs, including transportation, until the merchandise reaches its destination.
Incoterm DAP
In this case, the seller is responsible for all the costs and risk until such time as the merchandise is ready to be delivered to the buyer.
Incoterm DDP
In this case, the buyer is free to carry out any type of procedure, so the seller is responsible for all costs (including import customs costs) until the merchandise is delivered to the place of the agreed destination country.
