Positive Behavior Intervention Supports - CaseStudy II
Case Study II - SUSIE
Susie is a 2nd grade student - age 8. She suffers from low self confidence and fixed mindset. She often gives up before even trying a task. She struggles with reading and sees a reading specialist 3 times/week for about 45 min. each time. She tends to whine and complain about doing any classroom work, especially when she needs to work independently. She will ask for help reading word problems in math before even attempting it on her own. If she makes a mistake, she immediately shuts down and gets really down on herself. Once she’s in this state, it is extremely difficult to turn her around.
