Materials
Aluminum foil
Main reason of use is to ensure protection of the chocolate from the environment influence, such as humidity. It ensures a longer lasting quality to the chocolate, giving a better flavor and freshness.
-
Frequently the aluminum is paired with a paper layer, which is in contact with the chocolate.
-
Cardboard
Lightweight, cheap and sturdy - it offers good hold for the boxes and protects the chocolate from any damage
It can be recycled up 7 times, so not a very long material life cycle. The process is easy and relatively fast, so it is a viable material choise
Plastic (PP)
Some manufacturers choose to use PP instead of cardboard to wrap the chocolate bar in. Since the plastic is glued shut, the chocolate remains safe from outside influence - until the packaging is opened.
-
-
With plastic, a higher level of hygiene can be guaranteed
-
-
