definition: training frequently, with a good intensity, for a good amount of time or type must increase over time in a training period to ensure that your body is pushed beyond its normal rhythm
it gets your muscles used to working hard. therefore if in an easy situation in a sport, your muslces won't need to work as hard.

definition: when you train beyond your bodies ability to recover by training at an intensity which is too high for a period of time
