A document may be served personally as if the document were a claim form

Application for this order must be supported by evidence and may be made without notice

Who to Serve? CPR 6.21
GR: Party to proceedings will serve a document that party has prepared.
If court is to serve a document prepared by a party, that party must provide a copy for the court and for each party to be served.
The court will serve a document which it has prepared except where a rule or PD provides that a party must serve/ the party notifies the court they wish to serve it/ court orders otherwise.
Service on Children and Protected Parties CPR 6.25
Application for an order
appointing a litigation friend
where a child/ protected party has no litigation friend must be served in accordance with CPR21.8(1) and (2)
Any Other Documents which would otherwise be served on a child must be served on the
litigation friend
conducting the proceeding on behalf.
Court may make an order permitting a document to be served on the child/ protected party OR on some other person other than the litigation friend. This order
can be made without notice.
Court can order document to be treated as if it has been properly served although document handed to someone other than person specified.
