Pathophysiology
A decrease in prostaglandins synthesis that protect the mucosa can cause fibrosis or stricture formation. Heliobactor Pylori is a common cause for chronic inflammation and infections. It starts in the antrum and spreads. It produces inflammation by activating toxins and enzymes that trigger IL*. Lymphocytes and other cells begin to invade and cause gastritis.
