What is an IO Model
An Input-Output model estimates the impacts of positive or negative effects and analyzes the ripple effects throughout decisions made. Similar to the Butterfly Effect.
Who is Colin Kapernick:question:
"Colin Rand Kaepernick is an American former professional football quarterback. He is also a political activist, best known for kneeling during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and racism against African Americans in the United States."
Colin Kapernick was a Nike athlete, who saw the Flag Air Max 1, which had an old USA flag on it. He was worried that the same flag is used by white Nationalists. This shoe was then taken off of the market.

They won't make the money off of the community that agrees with the decision to make him the face of the company. They also won't get the credit for being a socially respectable company, as they are doing nothing for the cause
-
However because this issue is controversial, more people will be talking about Nike. This is essentially free advertising
This was the best option for Nike as the positive publicity and coverage in general boosted sales and made loyal customers even more loyal. Futhermore news cycles are constantly changing so any negative coverage of the brand won't be long lasting
if nike wouldn't have supporting him The attention that he brought to the public regarding the police brutality towards the black community it would be less, and because he was supported by a major company it brought more attention to its cause.
-
However by not taking a political stance you aren't alienating any customers but as well you aren't identifying with any customers.
Less people will take up a cause if they weren't support by a major company because they risk losing their income and the ability to play professional football, also it created a lot of. personal negativity for him which was. reduced due to the fact that nikes sponsored him
-
The black community will buy more nike shoes, also other athletes are supporting his cause. People will respect Nike as a company for making this decision, this ties into C.S.R
-
Nike will lose some loyal customers who don't agree with the decision, this could make Nike lose more money off of this "correct" social decision
-
Direct Impact :warning: By Nike making Kaepernick the face of Nike, they are supporting the black population of America, alienating NFL supporters and general customers who dislike Kapernick. Furthermore, Nike is taking a political stance which may anger customers who don't share the same view,
