Children are encouraged to read Harper Lee's book during school because of it's thoughtful way of covering more adult topics.

Two people of separate races were sent to jail and then exiled for marrying. After a long battle, they finally won the case stating that love shouldn't be limited because of race.
No longer illegal in America to marry someone of a different origin.

Books were written advising people of color where to stay when they travelled because not everyone would serve them.

Despite people stating that they take pride in the school's diversity, a new school in Alabama is trying to take place
Their goal is to separate colored people from white. Arguing that this action is rewinding our progress of equality.
Is there a large majority still wanting separated systems or is it just selected people with higher authority?
