Id - "Pleasure principle" a biological aspect focused on seeking pleasure & avoiding pain, its unconscious and seeks immediate grattification
Ego - "Reality Principle" a psychological aspect focused on adapting to reality by reining in ID & super ego. Exists in conscious/preconscious/unconscious state and emphasizes on delayed gratification
Superego - Takes on a parental/societal aspect and represents right & wrong, moralistic & idealistic
Eros - unconscious sex drive expressed directly through sexual activities or indirectly through other activities (joking, working, etc)
Libidos - energy to fuel/energise the rest of the personality as a primitive life force
Thanatos - unconscious death instinct, drives aggressive & destructive acts (smoking, drug abuse)
