How could using a balance in research and reporting tactics have made a difference in the outcome of what was reported?
There should have been released compound security footage of the attack, as well as a recorded account of events from those who were within the US Embassy during the attack and had managed to survive.
There should have been lie-detector tests that should have been administered (per protocol) during the de-briefing process after the attacks on the compound, and those tests should be released to the public.
60 minutes should have verified any and all accounts of the timeline of events before bringing him on for an interview. That way, the fact-checking process could have been completed parallel to the interview.
