10 Lepers + Namaan + Maxit 2
Naaman
Commander of the army of Syria
brave and victorious soldier
highly favoured by his king
Leprosy
Worshipper of a different God
The girl has no name
Slave - abducted in raid on Israel
Worshipped Yahweh
Wanted the best for her master
If only he could see the prophet in Israel (Elisha - Samaria)
Don't know what happened to her
Do know that through her courage her master (eventually) became healed, and became a worshipper of Yahweh
Don't know anything about the servants, who said 'If he had asked you to do something hard - you would have done it
Don't know what the Jordan looks like, compared to the great rivers of Syria
For all Naaman's might, his healing came about in a dirty river, in a vulnerable land, prompted and encouraged by a nameless and humble set of individuals
And by a prophet (in Samaria) and by the power of a God of mercy - a God who Naaman promised to worship, from that moment on.
Saw what God had done 'skin had become like his servant's'
Turned back to Elisha
Acknowledged who God was 'Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel'
Went back to hs old life - changed
