THE USE OF CORN
The Corn industry is highly subsidized.
Corn is used as cattle feed because it is cheaper as compared to grass.
30% of land base in the US is used to grow corn.
Corn produces a bacteria called E.Coli in beef.
Corn is used in as Ketchup, Cheese, Batteries, Peanut butter, Salads, Coke, Jelly, Juices, Syrups, Diapers, Meat and fast food.
90% of the processed food products in the grocery store contain either a corn or soybean ingredient
AMERICAN SUPERMARKET
Tomatoes in an American supermarket are made red with ethylene gas.
An Average American supermarket has 47000 products.
A few brands take over half of the supermarket shelves.
Tyson Foods, Inc. is an American multinational corporation based in Springdale, Arkansas, that operates in the food industry.
At the supermarkets, candy, chips and soda are cheaper than vegetables.
WHAT IS E.COLI?
The cause of E.Coli is that cows are being fed with corn.
After eating hamburger contaminated with E. Coli 0157:H7 a woman’s 2-year-old son went from a perfectly healthy boy to be dead in 12 days.
E. Coli is a bacteria which is found in beef.
Some companies are now using a hamburger meat filler cleansed with ammonia hydroxide to help kill E. Coli.
COWS AND BEEF
Cows are fed with corn as cattle feed.
Ground beef from the grocery store has thousands of different cows mixed up in it so the chance of one of those cows in your meat having a disease is increased.
There are only 13 slaughterhouses for the majority of beef in all of the US.
Cows usually develop E.coli, a bacteria which is very harmful.
CHICKEN/ POULTRY FARMING
Scientists have managed to redesign the chicken to have bigger breasts.
A Tyson Chicken farmer says the chickens never even see sunlight, they are kept day and night in chicken houses with no windows.
Chickens today are being raised in half the time they were in 1950s.
GOVERNMENT'S ROLE
70% of processed foods have some sort of Genetically Modified Organism (GMO).
The food industry has different protections than other industries because of government laws.
The Government is dominated by the industries it is supposed to be regulating in the U.S.
