Dermis
made of loosely packed cells, connecting fibers, small muscles, sweat and sebaceous glands, blood vessels, nerve endings and hair follicles

Epidermis
4-5 layers of bloodless, tightly packed cells

Absorb melanin, constantly divide, always pushing the baby cells up
Hypodermis

Provides energy, cushioning, isolation, and anchors skin to the underlying tissues
