SKELETAL SYSTEM
NAMES OF ALL THE BONES
Skull: frontal, parietal, temporal, zygomatic, mandible, nasal, maxilla , cervical
Abominable: Sternum, scapula, clavicle, rib, thoracic vertebre, lumbar vertebre
Arm limbs: Humerus, Radius, Ulna, Carpal. metacarpal, phalanges
Pelvic area: Coxal, sacrum, coccyx,
Leg limbs: Femur, Patella (Knee cap), Fibula, tiba, talus, carpal, calcaneus, metacarpal, phalanges
LONG BONE
Outside: Proximal epiphysis, Diaphysis, epiphysis plate, distal epiphysis
Inside: articular cartilage, spongy bone, (red marrow), compact bone, medullary cavity (yellow marrow),
TYPE OF BONE
Long bone is a shaft and two ends can often expand, which are our limbs. They have an elongated shape
Short bone is a roughly cube shape; include Sesamoid bone a sesame seed shape form in tendon, vary in size and number different individual, alter direction and pull reduce friction and modify pressure (not connected)
Flat bone is a thin flattened, usually bit curved found in breastbone, shoulder blade, rib cage, and cranial bone
Irregular bone is complicated shape found in vertebrae and hip bone
REMODEL, FRACTURE REPAIR, AND DISORDERS
Cartilage tears: damage in articular cartilage of joints (young athletes)
Sprains; ligament of joint is stretch or torn- ligament completely torn can be sewn torn ends or replace with grafts or surgical
Dislocation: bones forced out of alignment - subluxation particle dislocation of a joint
Arthritis: over 100 different types of inflammation/degenerates disease that damage joints
Osteoarthritis: chronic degenerates condition
Rheumatoid arthritis: chronic inflammation disorder
Govty Arthritis: blood level of urine acid rise excessively may be deposited as needle-sharp irate aystasis, in soft tissue of joint
Lyme disease: inflammation disease caused by spirochete bacteria transmitted by bite of tick that live on mice and deer
MICROSCOPE OF COMPACT BONE
Canaliculi and Haversian Canal which is the basic unit of compact bone made up of Calcium salt and has flexibility and mature bone cells sit in cavity which is the lacunae
JOINTS/SYNOVIAL JOINTS
Articular Cartilage: keep bone from being crushed
Joint (articular) cavity: potential space in joint
Articular (joint) capsule: strength joint no bones pulled apart
Synovial Joint; occupy free space in joint
Reinforce Ligament: capsule stretchy and loose
Neve and blood vessel: blood filtrate basis of synovial fluid
FEMALE AND MALE PELVIS
Female: larger and broader, tall higher iliac crest, narrow and compact. Has an oval shape.
Male: small and more inlet heart shape.
