clay

little tiny rocks, can be different color

very fine, powdery

made from dead plants, insects and animals

there are many kinds of mixtures of plants

each kind of plant will grow better in each kind of soil

soil is a renewable resource

dry clay: dark brown, soft and powdery

dry humus: dark and light brown, rough and soft

dry sand: light brown, rough
